Little Free Library Dedication
Today we dedicate our Little Free Library. It will now soon be placed on a post and mounted next to the bench on our property near Holt Road by the walk and bike path. The little library will be filled with both Christian and secular books for children and adults.
Anyone walking by can take a book for free. One of the mottos of the "Little Free Library" organization is TAKE A BOOK - LEAVE A BOOK. A person taking a book is encouraged to consider leaving one in exchange, however that is not required. Including Christian books, Bibles, and Portals of Prayer will give Messiah the opportunity to share our message of Jesus and forgiveness.
"Little Free Library" is a non-profit organization with headquarters in Hudson, Wisconsin. There are nearly 40,000 registered Little Free Libraries in all 50 states and 70 countries. Messiah has registered with the organization and our location will appear on an online map.
We want to thank Gary Volker and Jim Keat for promoting and leading this project. Also thank you to the following: Ned Gottleber who designed and built our Little free Library, Messiah's Planned Giving Board for approving a grant to pay for construction, installation and purchase of Christian books and Bibles, Messiah's Trustees who will be installing our little library and to members of Messiah who have already donated books,
Books are now needed to help fill our "Little Free Library. If you have any Christian or Secular books you would like to donate, they can be placed in the red tub in the entry area.
