Junior Confirmation 2007-08

It is that time again. Confirmation will begin Monday, September 10th with a family night and introduction to the study material being used this year.

The purpose of confirmation is to prepare young people to make the good confession of faith that was made on their behalf at their baptism. As such, this is a very important time in the life of the 7th and 8th graders of our church.

This year we will be using "Living God's Word" from Concordia Publishing House.

In addition to regular growth in the teachings of the church as found in Scripture, there will be monthly opportunities for the young people to participate in servant or fellowship activities.

The Confirmation Celebration banquet is scheduled for Saturday, May 17th and Confirmation Sunday is May 18, 2008.

Pastor Downs will teach the class and the Guides this year are: Paula Reister, 8th grade, and Wendy Guilfoyle, 7th grade.

Confirmation involves not only the young people and their parents but also all of the members of Messiah. As members, you are invited to inquire as to material and schedule as well as attend class sessions. Additionally, you are encouraged to pray for the young people and encourage them in growth in faith.
