Board of Christian Education

The Board's duties and responsibilities are defined in the Bylaws.   This board focuses on youth ministry and Christian education for all persons.

Board Members

Carrie Kodish, Sherri Large, Krista Ried, Maggie Schultz, Dee Smith and Melissa Winkel

Board Goals

1. To:  Provide a quality Christian education for the adults and children of Messiah.
   So that:  The congregation grows in their knowledge and strength of faith.

2. To:  Increase the attendance of unchurched children to our Vacation Bible School.
   So that:  More children will learn of Jesus’ love for them.

3. To:  Improve Messiah’s youth programs through improved facilities, innovative studies and activities.
   So that:  Our youth groups grow in numbers and in their commitment to the Church.

4. To:  Provide an enjoyable experience for all who volunteer with anything involving our board.
   So that:  They are more compelled to volunteer again and in so doing, grow in fellowship with their brothers and sisters in Christ and their spirit of servanthood.

Board Activities

• Sponsor and support Sunday School
• Sponsor and support Vacation Bible School during the summer
• Sponsor and support our Senior and Junior Youth programs
• Sponsor confirmation activities
• Sponsor Synodical Youth Servant Event
• Offer partial tuition for members attending area LCMS day schools
• Support members who attend Synodical colleges through scholarships
• Sponsor and support adult Bible studies in members' homes and at church
