Expansion Plans

"Building On His Blessings"  was the theme for our campaign to raise money for a new addition to our present facility. Several years ago Messiah Lutheran Church began a plan to increase our physical space. After much prayer and consultation in God’s Word, plans were made to construct a new kitchen, gymnasium and classrooms. We believed this would assist in increasing our ministry in Jesus’ Name to the community by offering day care, pre-school and latchkey programs as well as the hosting of community events.  We began our Capital Campaign in May 2000 to raise the funds needed to begin building in the Spring of 2001.  The Lord has blessed us in the ministry!

Phase two of our plan was called "Responding to His Blessings"   and focused on the refurbishing and beautification of the Sanctuary.  In April 2000, we added new chairs, paint and carpet in the Sanctuary and Fellowship Hall, added fieldstone to the Altar area, modified the Communion Rail and lighting in the Sanctuary and made a few other enhancements.   Three stained glass windows were designed and created for the Sanctuary.  They were installed and dedicated on Reformation Sunday, October 29, 2000.

We broke ground on March 25, 2001.   The Laborers for Christ were here April through November helping us build.  We dedicted the new addition on December 4, 2001.

Our Board of Early Childhood Ministry  and congregation worked hard with the Lord's help and direction to prepare for the day-care and after school programs that are now open and enrolling at the Messiah Child Development Center.
