Purpose Statement

So that children may "Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ" (2 Peter 3:18), we provide an environment where children and adults experience God's word daily.  This purpose is achieved in a warm and loving Christ-centered atmosphere in which children can develop to their fullest potential, and families are supported and strengthened.

Our ministry is supported by a congregation and staff committed to carrying out the Great Commission--to teach the gospel to all.  We do this with the understanding that all of us are on a journey to become closer to Christ.

Discipline

The methods of discipline used in our center will be based on God's Word, and our knowledge of how children think and learn.  Clear, consistent, and simple rules will be followed and reinforced.  We believe that discipline teaches a child what is right; and is carried out in a loving and age appropriate manner.   Methods of discipline will include positive reinforcement, redirection, problem solving, and natural consequences.

Licensing

The Messiah Child Development Center is licensesd by the State of Michigan and adheres to the laws and standards set forth by the State of Michigan, the Lutheran Church--Missouri Synod, the Lutheran Education Association, and the National Association for the Education of Young People.

We accept children without regard to race, color, religious belief, national origin, or sex.  A pre-enrollment conference will be held to determine if a child will benefit from our program.
